Player Spotlight: Carlton Fisk

I came to appreciate Carlton Fisk long after his playing career ended. He was on his last legs when I became a Sox fan. And I never saw him pick up a pen at Angels games. So there was nothing to really draw a kid to him.

As I got older, I realized just how great his career really was. He is probably one of the 5 or so best catchers in MLB history. I’ve met him a couple times in the last 10 or so years, and he seemed nice enough. So eventually I started to collect him. I have accumulated the following Fisk autographs:

Cards – 27
8x10s – 2
Baseballs – 2
Large Photos – 3
Bats – 1
Jerseys – 1
Mini Helmets – 1
Figurines – 2
Plates – 1
Total – 40

Less talk, more Fisk!
