A couple of the cards were smeared slightly, and he didn’t use the blue sharpie I sent. That’s a bit disappointing considering I paid a fee for the autographs, but I guess I can’t complain too much. The man is 100 years old after all! I’m just glad the 1951 Bowman is the one card that isn’t smeared. Thanks Mr. Robinson!

Sases for Sox: Gary Peters
Sases (self addressed stamped envelopes) for Sox will be a new series detailing my successes at collecting White Sox autographs through the mail (TTM). I used to send out to tons of players, but haven’t done so in years. Last week I started sending out again. It only took THREE days to receive my first success, Gary Peters! Gary has always been a great mail signer, and he did not disappoint! I normally send no more than 2-3 cards, but I sent 4 in this case. Thanks Gary!

Frank Thomas Private Signing
I recently took part in another Frank Thomas private signing. I had only planned on sending in 3 cards, but then I heard a rumor that he might be raising his price soon. So I sent in as many as I could afford, which ended up being 9. They all turned out great. The 1992 Donruss Elite is definitely one of my top 5 favorite signed Thomas cards.
Roberto Alomar Private Signing
I recently sent in a couple of cards for MAB’s private signing with Roberto Alomar. I’m pleased with how the rookie turned out, but not happy at all with the Donruss Champions card. If there has ever been a set with an obvious place to sign, it’s this set. I’ve never felt the need to label these cards, as it’s just so obvious. And yet, Alomar signed this card in a horrible spot. I guess it’s my fault, but I’m still not very happy. I’ll have to get another one signed in the future.
Project Rookie Card: Fernando Tatis Jr.
I participated in a recent private signing with San Diego Padres (still hurts) superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. I would have loved to have gotten 4 more cards and a mini helmet signed, but the signing started at $140 per item. So all I sent in was a Bowman Chrome rookie. I’m very happy with how it turned out. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some more stuff done in the future.
